Why it matters.
You may not realize it, but an estimated one person in ten has a diagnosable mental illness. Yes, one in ten.
You also may not realize that families, children, and individuals who seek help, counseling and treatment from Coleman Professional Services receive the care they need, regardless of their ability to pay.
That’s why Right At Home is such a wonderful and important event.
Right At Home in September is the main fundraiser for the Coleman Foundation. The benefit helps raise community awareness about important mental health issues, while at the same time, raises funds to support accessible behavioral health services in our area.
Professional behavioral-health options are now more important than ever. And thanks to the generosity of people like you, those who support Right At Home, people in need can continue to receive quality care, no matter what.
With the continued success of Right At Home, more and more people in our community are better equipped to achieve their full potential. And that’s certainly something to celebrate!
We look forward to you joining us.
It’s a good time, for a great cause.
Be sure to make your reservations early.
2010 Featured Artist
On a crisp evening in the early fall of 1989, artist Jance Lentz Hatch donated an oil painting of Davey Lake to the Coleman Foundation and , along with husband Tom, opened their home for the what would be the very first Right At Home benefit. Jan’s painting was the sole piece raffled during the party that evening with David Joy being the winner. He was surprised to realize that the painting featured the very tree under which he and his wife, Sherry, had exchanged their wedding vows. This coincidence prompted the Joys to host Right at Home in their home the following year. Since then, the fundraiser has grown into one of the most beloved events in our community.
Over the years, more than a hundred artists have contributed their time and their talent with the donations of incredible art in support of Coleman Foundation’s good works in the community.
So when we decided to feature an artist at this year’s Right At Home, Jan was the obvious choice to begin what soon will be a Right At Home tradition. Jan is donating two pieces this year. Who will end up as owners of these important inaugural pieces of art? You’ll have to be there September 11 for the bidding. If you are not one of the lucky winners, don’t despair. You can purchase limited edition note cards, created exclusively for Right at Home, that are adorned with the images of the featured pieces.
We look forward to seeing you then!
Excitement is Building
Every day, work crews and craftsmen are busy in and out of the Twin Lakes home at 1595 Woodway Road in Kent, gradually transforming the space during its renovations. And come September 11, 2010, their drop cloths will be replaced with tablecloths… the work lights with candlelight… as guests arrive for the festivities at this landmark property.
Here at the Coleman Foundation, we also are busy with renovations of a different kind – of the event itself. This Web site is just the start. Our favorites we’re saving for the event itself. You’ll notice more exciting ways to take part… plus more reasons to enjoy one of the most memorable nights of the social season.
Stay tuned for all the details!
